In a heartening outcome to a tense day-long search, Janjgir-Champa police successfully traced and secured a missing four-year-old boy with mental health challenges, reuniting him with his family after he had wandered away from his home in Pakaria village under Mulmula police station limits.

The child, Love Kumar KashyapтАФnon-verbal and mentally challengedтАФwas reported missing on Wednesday morning around 11 AM. Recognising the gravity of the situation, Superintendent of Police (SP) Vijay Kumar Pandey (IPS) immediately took charge, personally visiting the boyтАЩs home and engaging with his distressed family.

What followed was a meticulously coordinated search operation led by SP Pandey himself. Multiple teams, including cyber specialists and local officers, worked through the night to track potential leads. The breakthrough came when information was received that a child matching the description had been admitted to Seva Bharti Matru Chhaya, a recognised child shelter in Bilaspur.

Under the supervision of Additional SP Umesh Kumar Kashyap, a police team including Mulmula Station House Officer Inspector Paras Patel and the district cyber unit rushed to Bilaspur late in the night to verify and secure the childтАЩs custody. The boy was found safe and cared for at the shelter, awaiting formal handover procedures.

The SP commended the swift response and inter-district coordination that made the rescue possible.

тАЬGiven the childтАЩs condition, the urgency was paramount. IтАЩm proud of my team for responding with such sensitivity and speed,тАЭ said SP Vijay Pandey.

Police confirmed that the child is being brought back to Janjgir-Champa and will soon be reunited with his family.
